It's Time to Talk to Kids About Porn

Want to talk to your kids about your experience with pornography?

Nope.

I know you don’t. I didn’t either.

Do your kids want to eat their vegetables?

Nope.

I know they don’t. I never did either.

Are you feeling a commonality here?

Fortunately, you have support like good books, therapists, and loving family members and friends. You don’t have to go at it unprepared. And kids have BBQ sauce for their veggies! So we can all do this.

The thing is, sharing your struggles is exactly what your kids need. Our books are only meant to start the conversation on hard topics. It’s up to you, as the adult, to finish it out with a little vulnerability.

Sharing about your experience with pornography is a great way to help your kids. It does a number of things: it shows you are a human and therefore relatable, it shows them it’s okay to be vulnerable, and it helps them feel more comfortable sharing when (not if) they see pornography.

Don't think pornography is a problem?
